Belgium Helps Vietnam Preserve Paper Objects
The Vietnam Cultural University, coordinating with the Association for the Promotion of Overseas Education and Training (APEFE) in Wallonie Bruxelles, Belgium, held a training course on the preservation of paper objects for workers from 20 museums nationwide from October 20 to 25, 2008.

This is an important part of the project VN201CRS on supporting the preservation, restoration and protection of objects in Vietnamese museums, including the necessary demands of the preservation of paper objects and relics.

The training course is being directly led by Dr. Anne Liénardy, a professor and expert on paper preservation at Belgium’s La Cambre University.

In addition, an exhibition on Vietnamese folklore paintings opened in Ho Chi Minh City’s Fine Arts Museum on October 20, 2008 which showcases 71 Hang Trong and Dong Ho folklore paintings.

The exhibition will run until November 5, 2008.
